I started in August of 2009 and have ended, along with the show itself, in January of 2010. It's a sad thing to see such a great man be forced out by the worst television station in history. Conan O'Brien is nothing short of a comedic genius, and the nicest, classiest man in show business. It was a true honor to have worked with him.
As the curtains will soon close on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, Conan's legacy is far from over. Who knows what will happen to him next, Fox, FX, online, porn, or some other outlet that has yet to be invented, but something WILL happen I am sure of it. If only because Conan is a comic gem, and any network would be lucky as hell to have him. NBC made their biggest mistake in history, and they will eventually pay for it. Regardless, this is the end.
I have met some of the most incredible people during my internship; all the way from the top to the bottom. This show changed my life forever, and the knowledge that I have gained, and the friends I have made, will last me a lifetime. The people that work with Conan make you rethink the Hollywood stigma, that everyone is cruel, and won't be nice to you if you are at the bottom of the totem poll. This staff and crew are the single greatest group of human beings I have EVER had the pleasure of knowing and working with. It would be a real honor to work with Conan, or any member of his staff again.
And so, like all things, this chapter in my life has closed. I thank Conan and every member of the The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien for what it is they have given me: the six greatest months of my entire life.
"That's a wrap everybody. Thank you!"- Steve Hollander, Tonight Show stage manager.
